#### Grade Level: Nursery 1
#### Subject: Phonics
#### Duration: 45 minutes
---
**Objective:**
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

2. Identify objects that correspond with each vowel sound.
---
### Materials Needed:
1. Flashcards with vowels (a, e, i, o, u)
2. Flashcards with pictures of objects corresponding to each vowel (e.g., apple, egg, igloo, octopus, umbrella)
3. Alphabet song audio
4. Small objects/toys for tactile learning (e.g., toy apple, egg, igloo model, toy octopus, toy umbrella)
5. Chart paper and markers
6. Vowel workbooks or worksheets
7. Stickers for rewards
### Lesson Activities:
#### Introduction (10 minutes):
1. **Greeting and Warm-up:**
- Greet the students and have a brief warm-up with a listening game.
- Play the alphabet song and encourage students to sing along. Focus on the vowels during the song, pausing to have students repeat them.
#### Instructional Activities (20 minutes):
1. **Introduction to Vowel Sounds:**
- Show the vowel flashcards one by one.
- Pronounce each vowel sound clearly and have the students repeat it.
- Explain that these special letters are called vowels and are very important in many words.
2. **Sound and Identify:**
- Hold up the 'a' flashcard and then show a picture of an apple.
- Say "A for apple" and emphasize the 'a' sound. Students repeat after you.
- Continue the same procedure with 'e' for egg, 'i' for igloo, 'o' for octopus, and 'u' for umbrella.
3. **Tactile Learning with Objects:**
- Pass around small objects that correspond with each vowel sound.
- While they hold the objects, have students say the vowel and the name of the object.
#### Interactive Practice (10 minutes):
1. **Matching Game:**
- Scatter the vowel flashcards and object pictures around the room.
- Ask students to pick a vowel card and the corresponding object picture based on the sound.
- Help students if needed and encourage peers to assist each other.
#### Conclusion (5 minutes):
1. **Review and Praise:**
- Gather students and review each vowel sound one more time.
- Ask individual students to share one vowel and the object that goes with it.
- Praise all efforts and give out stickers as a reward.
#### Follow-Up Activity:
- Distribute vowel workbooks or worksheets where students can color pictures of objects that match with each vowel sound.
### Assessment:
- Observe and note which students can accurately identify and sound out the vowels with the corresponding objects.
- Encourage participation and positive reinforcement.
### Reflection:
- After the lesson, reflect on which activities were most effective in helping students understand vowel sounds.
- Adjust future lessons based on the students' engagement and understanding.
